Not long after you've collected the prize for your last job from Wakako, you’ll get a call about another; a messy one. This call starts the Sinnerman line of quests in Cyberpunk 2077.
Wakako wants you to collect a hit that's been put out on someone, and agrees to pay well. Johnny thinks the job stinks, but agree and go to meet the client.
He's apparently waiting for you with more details, so head to the map marker to meet Bill Jablonsky.
Cyberpunk 2077 Sinnerman Quest
Make contact with him on the street corner of MLK and Brandon, waiting on the bench if you're early and approaching his car after the time skip.
He tells you the target’s name: Joshua Stephenson, and that he’s a murderer.
Inside the truck, you can grill Bill for more information and it turns out he murdered his wife, but with 12 intelligence you can comment how the plan sounds half baked. Bill comments that he's spend his life savings on contracting you for help.
But without much warning, you’re thrown into a car chase with other vehicles throwing themselves in front of you at every opportunity.
Stick on their tail and eventually they’ll stop. Get out with Bill to confront the killer.
As you approach, you’ll see that it’s the NCPD transporting Stephenson, which is already not to plan.
You’ve actually got quite a couple of choices here, but as suggested by the fact you've not been able to save throughout this whole section, it's a little more on rails than you might think:
- You can let the scene play out. The officer will shoot Bill and then you can talk to Joshua. This is how the quest is "supposed to go".
- Alternatively, when Bill hits the deck you can shoot the copper and everyone he's in the car with. This cuts the quest short and gets you a payout from Wakako for "completing" the job
- Finally, you can rush out of the car, and try and shoot the guys before they shoot Bill. I'm not sure this is even possible, but stranger things have happened. Before he shoots Bill, the officer has a huge amount of health and more police literally appear out of nowhere and kill you if you try this.
As mentioned, if you just kill everyone you get 5k there and then and there’s nothing more.
However, we'll assume that you speak to Joshua. He wants you to go with him to continue the quest. Try to get a handle on what’s going on with the dialogue options, before joining them in the dispatch car.
His companions, Rachel and Vaquez, aren’t happy with taking you, but hop in the back you’ll start to get the gist from Joshua.
He’ll offer to pay you to stay with him for the day, and agree if you want to continue with the quest line.
At the end of the ride, Sinnerman finishes, and a new quest starts.
Cyberpunk 2077 There is a Light that Never Goes Out
Appreciating that the title of this quest is a reference to The Smiths, follow Joshua into the mysterious house.
At the door, speak to Zuleikha, and again try to ask what’s going on - but still no one will really tell you.
In the ensuing conversations, reply as you wish about God, and it’ll emerge that Joshua wants to turn his own crucifixion into a BD as penance for the murders he committed earlier in life.
He hopes that his Christ-like sacrifice will inspire others to "redemption", and that he's been sprung from prison by the BD studio Rachel works for so that they have exclusive rights.
After the exchange, return to the car and talk about how Zuleikha's mother won’t forgive him, then about the crucifixion - again answering as you wish. You can either try to dissuade Joshua with the angle that he's being used by the studio for controversial profit, or egg him on.
After the ride, in the parking lot of the diner, you can talk to Rachel about Joshua. Give your honest opinion, but she's cynical as ever.
If you've been trying to dissuade Joshua, Rachel will offer to double your fee if you walk away and let her get on with it. Johnny doesn’t like giving in to corpos, and neither do you, so refuse if you want to keep the quest going.
Inside, with 12 reflexes you can dig what dirt the studio has on Vasquez. In the following series of conversations, you can continue on whichever line you've started towards - trying to dissuade or embolden Joshua - before finishing proceedings by talking to Johnny.
He sees the whole situation as a textbook case of corporate exploitation, but then he would, wouldn't he?
